Interesting - listening to this guy from Seattle who cut his own CEO salary to ensure his staff was well paid: https://www.rnz.co.nz/national/programmes/saturday/audio/2018803421/dan-price-the-ceo-who-slashed-his-salary-by-1-million Kim Hill asks him if he could've achieved the same if his company was public/listed. He suggests he couldn't. The system's broken & public trust of public corporations is misplaced.
@cstanhope @lightweight a bit more context about the lawsuit: https://www.bloomberg.com/features/2015-gravity-ceo-dan-price/
Apparently Dan Price lied a lot about it
@IngaLovinde @cstanhope ouch. Thanks for that further info... It does sound like self-promotion.
@lightweight @cstanhope Here is a nice thread on that: https://threadreaderapp.com/thread/1369718228524662785.html
Apparently he lied about a lot of things.
@IngaLovinde Thanks for the link. I'm not sure what to do with the extra information regarding the lawsuit. It's clear the story got much more attention than I ever realized with details I hadn't heard before, and it's a swirling hot mess of a thing where the truth will be unknowable to me... Maybe I'll avoid boosting it from now on. :/
